The race

The Fondation des Ressources Alternatives du Sud-Ouest has been organizing this successful fundraising event for the last 8 years in order to support those with intellectual disabilities and pervasive developmental disorders (autism), the FRAS challenge. This activity has allowed the opening of a respite home for our Salaberry-de-Valleyfield client base. This year, the money raised will go towards supporting the respite home making it possible to accommodate a larger number of children.

The FRAS Challenge 2018 - 9th Edition will take place on Saturday, June 9th at the Parc Régional des îles de St-Timothée. Three routes are offered to the participants: a family friendly 10 km, 5 km and 1 km. Mrs. Julie Voyer, Executive Director of the Châteauguay, Valleyfield et Roussillon Express newspapers, has graciously accepted to be the Honorary Chair this year. The entire team would like to extend its warmest welcome and aims to foster the most dynamic collaboration.

Thanks to our experienced organizers, its quality and ideal location, the FRAS Challenge is a family friendly and user-friendly event for the region of the Suroît. Last year, our event attracted more than 500 runners and walkers, on top of the numerous spectators who came to cheer on family and friends. We felt privileged to able to rely on approximately 50 dedicated volunteers, without whom, none of all this would have been possible.
